Beginners Ashtanga Yoga Course

Learn Ashtanga in the traditional way.
In this course you will learn:
- The ashtanga breathing technique of Ujayi breath
- The fundamentals of Tristana: breath, bandha and Drishti and how to apply them
- The Sun Salutations and standing sequence of postures
- Correct alignment for safety
- How to relax into the postures to calm your nervous system
- The ashtanga opening mantra
- How to be grounded and build your posture from the foundations up.
By the end of each week you will have a short practice to do at home. Each week you will build on this practice until the practice becomes your own.
This course is suited to everyone including complete beginners to yoga. It is designed to build up strength and stamina along the way so that as you add more postures your body will be ready for them.
The course takes place in the general ‘Mysore room’ so that you can see where this practice can eventually take you.
The beauty of learning yoga in this way is that you are given individual attention and the practice and postures are adapted to suit your individual needs, not a one size fits all.
